About VASCUPP
The Virginia Association of State College and University Purchasing Professionals (VASCUPP) was established in 1992 with the objective of identifying opportunities for cooperative procurements and cost savings for higher education institutions in Virginia. The current 13 members of VASCUPP collaborate on cooperative procurements, procurement practices, and source selection; all of which allow for cost savings through leveraged spend and reduced administrative effort.
VASCUPP is governed by a consortium of procurement directors representing each member institution. The organization contains two committees: the College and University Cooperative Procurement Group (CUCPG) and the Supplier Diversity Advisory Committee.
CUCPG is composed of one senior purchaser from each member institution. CUCUPG works collaboratively to identify cooperative contracting opportunities. CUCPG members also share information regarding suppliers and upcoming and ongoing procurement opportunities.
SDAC is composed of supplier diversity personnel and designated SWaM-champions from each member institution. SDAC members identify and discuss cooperative contracting and sourcing opportunities, specifically as they relate to SWaM-certified businesses. SDAC is also tasked with planning and executing SWaMfest, the state’s premier networking event for SWaM-certified businesses.
